Message from our Coaches...
The feelings experienced before a game are magical, the anticipation and excitement are unique. My best memories of youth soccer are from travel days, the camaraderie, the preparation, the anticipation, new place, new breeze, new field, new people, all made the pitch the perfect scenario to cherish the game.
Adolfo told us a personal experience at the start of this journey. While he was a young boy in his native Chile, he had the opportunity to go and play in Europe. The soccer atmosphere and the experience gained, gave him a confidence like no other. When he went back to Chile he felt that he could face any team in the world.
That is what the Pouss’ Cup will do for our team. I can hardly wait to see our players seated on the airplane, ready to take off, all dressed in red, with “La Roca” printed on our chest, headphones on, buckled up, shoes off, hearing the engines’ sound accelerating to take off like a lion’s roar ready to unleash all his power. It will be like the call of war, the beginning of our experience, and for many, the beginning of a journey of a dream coming true.
Many parents and supporters will be traveling physically, others will be there in thoughts, prayers and spirit, following each step they take in person or through this blog, but be certain that your sons will carry with them the love and the support you have given them; it will be their fuel when things get hard, the strength to overcome defeat, the inspiration to conquer success.
We as coaches and parents will make sure this experience is something they can look back on in hard times to give them that push to move forward, a voice that will echo “YOU CAN DO IT”.
Today is the day, they will soon be in a new place, new time, new language, new dream, new challenge. But they are not alone, because we are La Roca, because we are family.
